Howdy Partner 🤠

My name is Dragos (pronounced Dragosh). I am 27 years old, from Romania and Canada. My family and I immigrated to Canada when I was 8 years old, I sound Canadian and mostly identify as Canadian if I had to choose, however I’m not particularly attached to any place or nationality.

I want to find a partner to create a life somewhere beautiful. My dream is to build a home / community and raise a big family (not immediately of course). I want to construct an environment where we can host people and be creative, with a workshop, yoga studio, sauna, chickens, garden, fruit trees, a dance floor, tiny homes, and a big outdoor living space. I love using my hands! I’m looking for a partner who also finds a lot of satisfaction using her hands and learning new skills.

I work as a software engineer, and while I’m a massive nerd who loves the challenge of software, this is primarily my chosen career because of the autonomy and leverage it provides me. I see my career as a way to support my real passions - being outdoors, sharing special experiences and pursuing creative outlets. I find these things much more fulfilling than any career, and even though I dread the corporate BS / sitting in front of a computer, I think software is an incredibly advantageous career. Intellectually I am interested in research but I don’t think the trade off is worth it.

I also have an entrepreneurial streak in me. I cofounded a startup in 2019, and when I was 17 I started a hardware company making synthesizers. I ran a wedding DJ business in high school/college and a software consultancy in my early 20s. I will most likely try again with something else in the future. I am also fairly good with money and investing.

Above all I value kindness and curiosity. I am very open and communicative. I am team oriented, believe in having an equal household where we share responsibilities and go above and beyond for each other. I am also very loyal and am seriously looking for a lifelong partner.

I am really adventurous, I love to do sports, have a ton of different hobbies. I live in a converted school bus I built in Canada for a couple of months per year travelling to ski/climb/highline/camp/etc.

I’ve travelled and lived all over the world, right now I’m in Melbourne. I have connections primarily in Berlin, Toronto and Montreal. I can uproot my life with ease, I would love to settle in the US or perhaps somewhere in Europe.

At the end of the day you can’t force love, I’m just hoping someone out there feels the same way I do and wants to come together to make a life that we both want into a reality.

It’s sort of bizarre looking for love when you have so much autonomy because in a way you’re forced to build a narrative about a certain lifestyle you can create with someone. It’s not like I just happen to exist in the city where my entire social network is and I just happen to meet a woman and we just happen to fall in love. I currently live in Melbourne because I decided on a whim. to come here for the hell of it (my friend happened to move here). there is no reason or momentum keeping me anywhere really, other than what I choose to ascribe meaning to. The narrative I construct is usually built around adventure or the people I care about.

So I am looking for someone who understands this. We can live almost any life we want. let’s dream together and make it a reality.

I’m happy to compromise to a certain extent but I don’t think I could ever be happy if I can’t frolic in the Woods on a daily basis or spend hours in the shop. I want to live a really physical life, it makes me feel great.
